Trillium Lodge on Great Barrier Island is a 25 minute airflight or 4 hour boat trip from Auckland and offers Bed and Breakfast Luxury accommodation in a unique log built residence, with a very private and tranquil setting. We also provide a BBQ for guests use; you can bring your own meat and salads or buy meat at the local store and fresh salad vegetables. On a Saturday at Stonewall store there is a local market with a selection of locally grown produce being sold. As the property is being run as a guest house we can only provide limited kitchen facilities for guests, and some fridge space, please ask for further details if you are planning to cook your own BBQ dinner. Whether you arrive on Great Barrier Island by plane, boat or even helicopter there is nothing like arriving at this special place that offers a relaxed pace of life and a stunning landscape. Trillium Lodge has beautifully appointed guest rooms that have outstanding views over the bay to Coromandel or stunning mountain and bush views. Owned and operated by descendants of the local pioneering Medland family it is run as a place to relax after a day out and about enjoying what the island has to offer. A highlight of the island has to be the large amount of natural bush and DOC walking tracts. On the East Coast discover the stunning almost deserted white sand surf beaches which offer both surfing and swimming. The west coast has a rocky coastline with sheltered beaches and coves edged with graceful old pohutukawa trees. Travel the island in your rental car and stop off to enjoy a coffee or meal at one of several cafes and restaurants scattered across the island. In the evening venture out to a local restaurant less than 10 minutes drive away.
We have six lovely well appointed bedrooms, no two rooms are alike and we have chosen the room names from local native flora and fauna and history relating to the island, that we are so passionate about. Check out our suites
